Shrenu Parikh hospitalised after testing positive for COVID-19

Well-known television actress Shrenu Parikh, who has to her credit such popular shows as Ishqbaaaz and Ek Bhram Sarvagun Sampanna, has tested positive for COVID-19. She is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital in her hometown Vadodara, Gujarat. The actress was in Mumbai when the nationwide lockdown was announced. She travelled to her hometown in May.

Parikh took to her Instagram account to share the news with her fans. In her note, she wrote that she was diagnosed with Coronavirus a couple of days ago and has been admitted to a hospital.

“Hey, everyone! (I) have been away for a while but the bugger has not spared me. (I) was found COVID positive a few days ago, and I am now recovering in the hospital. Keep me and my family in your prayers! And I am very thankful to all the Corona warriors who treat the patients compassionately during these scary times too,” read her message.

The 30-year-old actress added that even after being so careful if the virus can get to you, then imagine the power of this invisible demon we are fighting with. She requested everyone to be very careful and save themselves from the virus.

Shrenu Parikh is not the first actor from the Indian television industry to have contacted Coronavirus ever since several shows resumed production a couple of days ago, after a complete lockdown of three months. Recently, popular actor Parth Samthaan has also been tested positive for COVID-19. He is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Mumbai.

On Tuesday, India’s COVID-19 tally rose to 9,36,181, with 24,309 reported deaths.

Sumukhi Suresh says Hoemonal proves women back bold comedy on their own terms

Sumukhi Suresh Unfiltered: Why women deserve bigger stages as she brings a riskier 'Hoemonal' to London

Highlights:

  • Comedian-creator Sumukhi Suresh frames Hoemonal as a string of lived moments shaped by “hormones” rather than neat narratives.
  • The show has grown in scope since its last London run: larger venues, fuller ambitions and a clearer audience focus on women.
  • Sumukhi discusses risk, crafting unlikeable protagonists (Pushpavalli), founding Motormouth Writers and the practical demands of touring big productions.

Sumukhi Suresh opened Hoemonal by naming the show’s true co-star: hormones. The title, she says, is not a punchline. It works more like a container for all the loose, messy pieces of life that she threads together onstage — the doubts, the desires, the shifts in confidence, and the everyday disorder most women recognise but rarely hear spoken aloud.

Speaking exclusively to Eastern Eye ahead of her London shows, Sumukhi Suresh is direct, thoughtful and quick with her humour, much like she is onstage.
