Irrfan Khan passed away this morning and his demise has left everyone shocked. The actor was known for his impeccable acting talent and was working in the industry for the past three decades. He started his career with small roles and later on proved his mettle as one of the most successful leading male actors of Bollywood.

Haasil

Irrfan Khan kickstarted his career with small roles in many offbeat films. But it was 2003 release Haasil that got him in the limelight. He played a negative role in the movie and went on to impress one and all. Irrfan also won Filmfare Award for Best Actor in a Negative Role for his performance in the movie.

Maqbool

In 2003, Irrfan also starred in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Maqbool. The film was an adaptation of Macbeth by Shakespeare. The actor played the lead role in the film and his performance was appreciated a lot.

Life In A Metro

Irrfan went on to prove his versatility as an actor with the film Life In A Metro. It was a multi-starrer but he stole the show and once again impressed everyone with his act.  He won Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the movie.

The Namesake

In 2006, Irrfan Khan starred in the international film The Namesake which was directed by Mira Nair. The movie was screened at multiple film festivals and got a lot of appreciation. Irrfan’s performance was damn good in the film.

Slumdog Millionaire

In 2008, Irrfan starred in one more Hollywood film titled Slumdog Millionaire. He played a supporting role of a police officer in the movie and grabbed everyone’s attention with his performance in it.

After Life In A Metro, Irrfan was seen as an actor who could do light-hearted films as well. He played the lead role in Shah Rukh Khan’s production venture Billu, a story about a barber who is the childhood friend of a superstar. His comic timing made everyone laugh throughout the film.

Paan Singh Tomar

2012 release Paan Singh Tomar was a biopic on an Indian athlete who becomes a dacoit. Directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, the film got a thumbs up from the critics as well as did quite well at the box office. Irrfan was amazing as Paan Singh Tomar and won National Award for his performance in the movie.

The Lunchbox

One of the most beautiful films of Irrfan Khan’s career would be The Lunchbox. The movie was an unusual love story and touched the right chords of our hearts. Irrfan’s subtle performance in the film was loved by one and all.

Hindi Medium

2017 release Hindi Medium is undoubtedly one of the best films of Irrfan Khan. He was excellent in the film and it was his performance that took the movie a notch higher. His comic timings were simply amazing in the film. He went on to win the Filmfare Best Actor award for his performance in the movie.

Angrezi Medium

Last but not the least, we have Angrezi Medium on our list. The film, which released in March this year, didn’t get a great response at the box office, due to coronavirus outbreak. But well, Irrfan surely gave a memorable performance in the movie.

Sreenivasan has died in Kochi at 69, ending one of the most influential runs in Malayalam cinema. He was being taken for dialysis on Saturday when he developed breathing trouble, and doctors at the Government Taluk Hospital in Tripunithura said he died around 8.30am. The industry has lost a writer-performer who pulled Kerala society into his stories with humour, politics and small, real lives.
