Namastey Canada opts for its original title Namastey England

Starring the Ishaqzaade duo of Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra in the lead role, the upcoming film Namastey Canada is going to have a different title before hitting the shooting floor. Interestingly, the makers are opting for the same title which they had decided before announcing the film officially. Yes, Namastey Canada is going back to its original title, Namastey England.

Namastey England is the next instalment of the highly successful Bollywood film, Namastey London, which starred superstar Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in pivotal roles. Talking about the sudden change in the title of the film, producer Vipul Shah said, "We have made the change primarily because I think the script is far more culturally suited in London than in Canada."

A leading film trade magazine, on the other hand, reports that the makers decided to rename the film as the title ‘Namastey England’ was registered in the name of both Vipul Shah and actor Akshay Kumar. As this was a joint registration, Shah didn’t want to get into any kind of issue and therefore renamed the forthcoming instalment.

"Akshay has been most gracious from the outset and had given me the title much earlier. But I had by then already made the choice of 'Canada'. The change in title happened a month ago and the film's team has already done a reccee in the UK," Vipul clarifies.
