My top 10 Hair and Beauty products by Raakhi Tanvi

“I’M A professional hair and make-up artist. I also offer one-to-one classes for anyone looking to feel a bit more confident with doing their own make-up. I use a range of products and have managed to whittle down some of my favourites to a current top 10. It’s particularly useful as finding the right products can be a minefield and really difficult to identify what works for you,” said Raakhi Tanvi.

Benefit POREfessional Primer: This product is a great ‘cheat’ for hiding enlarged pores on your face, particularly on your nose before you apply any foundation. My top tip with this product would be to slightly rub it between your fingers before applying it and letting it sit on your face for two or three minutes before applying any foundation on top.

Moroccanoil Hydrating Conditioner: A quick fix conditioner for the appearance of split ends. It is so hydrating and smells incredible. With this one I always like to leave it in my hair for five to seven minutes after washing before rinsing it off with cool water. It works amazingly as a mask too, which I put onto dry hair, tie up into a bun and leave on overnight, with a towel on my pillow of course.

Laura Mercier Translucent Powder: An all-time ‘must have’ for everyone’s make up kit! This powder can be used for the baking method, which is great for setting make-up in place, especially in summer or when you need it to stay put for a long period of time. Apply this with a beauty blender and leave it on for two minutes and wipe off with a fluffy brush, especially under the eyes where products tend to crease and move.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer: The perfect bronzer for almost all skin tones is a lovely buildable powder that I use most often for contouring, but also sometimes as a blusher. It comes with its own little fluffy rectangular brush, which is perfect for just below the jawline and under the cheekbone to add some shape and definition to your face.

Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Eye-shadow Palette: A staple eye shadow palette that has colours in there for every occasion and ones that you can easily mix and bring together to move a look from day to night. It has a fabulous mix of matte neutral tones, pearly iridescent colours and some very glam glitters.

La Roche-Posay – EFFACLAR DUO (SPF 30): I think people forget that you need an SPF face cream all year round! This one has been amazing for me as I suffer from acne prone skin, so my face can breakout at any given second. I use this under my make-up and let it sit on my face for 10 minutes before applying a primer. It is great at keeping breakouts contained and also at bay. It’s a treatment as well as a cream.

No7 Radiant Results Nourishing Cleansing Balm: This cleansing balm is so luxurious that it feels like I have had a facial after using it. I use it to take off all my make-up at the end of the day. It is a balm that you rub between your fingers to warm up and put it all over your face. It’s kind to skin, but also removes waterproof mascara without making you cry or irritating your eyes. It even comes with a wonderful cloth to help wipe away all your make-up. I always follow this up with a gentle face wash, toner and moisturiser.

Tangle Teezer: Because nobody wants broke, tangled hair. These brushes come in many forms, one for the shower (which is great to comb conditioner through your hair and also to prevent that post-hair wash tangled nest that we all get), one for drying your hair, one for everyday use and even a handbag sized one. I highly recommend investing in the ultimate brush which has reduced my hair breakage a lot!

Beauty Blender: A very important tool for any make-up bag. I always use this dampened to help me really press my products into my face. It is great to use with primers, foundations, some liquid highlighters, cream contours and also with my beloved setting powders. I replace my beauty blender every couple of months, however it does come with a very good soap. I wash my beauty blender after every use to prevent any bacteria growing on there. For my clients, I use a new one for every person!

Anastasia Beverly Hills – Amrezy Highlighter: The only highlighter you will ever need! It is on the pricey end, but the quality of the product is amazing. Very little goes a very long way! It is a stunning gold colour and can easily be built up for a day-to-night look. It is very wearable and comes in very cute packaging. Super Instagram-able.

Why Karan Johar thinks Suhana Khan and Aryan Khan are paving their own way in Bollywood

Karan Johar has known Shah Rukh Khan's children, Suhana and Aryan, for years, almost like family. But in a recent chat on Raj Shamani’s podcast, the filmmaker stripped away all the glam and sentimentality to talk plainly about their journeys in the film industry. “These two are not just star kids, they’re serious about their work,” he shared.

Starting with Suhana, Karan didn’t shy away from the criticism she received after The Archies. But he pointed out that her next film King, opposite her father Shah Rukh Khan, will be a real game-changer. “People will finally see her for who she is on screen,” he said, adding that she’s put in the hours, studied the craft, and is not relying on her last name. According to him, Suhana’s work speaks for itself. He’s seen her earlier performances and believes King will prove there’s a real actor in her, one with her own voice, not just a shadow of her father.

Liam Payne’s £24 million estate goes to son Bear as pop star dies without will

When Liam Payne died in October last year, the world mourned a pop icon. But behind the public grief lay private matters that are now slowly coming to light. The 31-year-old singer passed away in Buenos Aires after falling from a hotel balcony, a tragic end that left unanswered questions not just about his final hours, but about his legacy.

One of the more surprising revelations is that Liam didn’t leave a will. Despite having an estimated fortune of £28.6 million (30.1 crore), his estate was left unplanned. After covering debts and costs, £24.3 million (25.6 crore) remains. With no legal document to guide its distribution, the court granted power of administration to his ex-partner Cheryl Tweedy, the mother of his eight-year-old son, Bear.

Diljit Dosanjh wears 130 carat emerald necklace at Met Gala inspired by the lost £20 million Patiala jewel

When Diljit Dosanjh stepped onto the Met Gala red carpet this year, he didn’t just show up in a designer outfit but walked in carrying history. Dressed in an all-white ensemble with a turban, a kirpan and a spectacular necklace layered with emeralds and diamonds, Dosanjh paid tribute to Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala, a name long associated with grandeur and timeless elegance.

The necklace was made in Jaipur by Golecha Jewels, who spent nearly four months crafting the piece. It wasn’t a copy of the original Patiala necklace, which vanished decades ago, but a fresh creation inspired by archival images and Dosanjh’s personality. It featured over 2,500 stones, with the emerald centrepiece weighing close to 130 carats, according to jeweller Manav Golecha.

Charli XCX to star in and produce new horror film by 'Audition' director Takashi Miike

Charli XCX is shifting gears once again, but this time into the twisted world of cult Japanese filmmaker Takashi Miike. The British pop star will both star in and produce Miike’s upcoming feature, her second project under her newly launched production company, Studio365.

Known for pushing limits in cinema, Miike has built a reputation over the last three decades for his dark, genre-bending films like Audition (1999) and Ichi the Killer (2001). While the title and plot of this new collaboration haven’t been made public, Miike’s signature style mix of horror and shock suggests audiences should expect something intense. The script is being written by Ross Evans, with Yumiko Aoyagi co-writing. Evans is also behind How to Save a Marriage, which is in development with Robert Pattinson as producer.

Geraldine Viswanathan steals the spotlight in Marvel’s 'Thunderbolts' after Ayo Edebiri's exit

Geraldine Viswanathan’s path to Thunderbolts didn’t start with a blockbuster audition or a lifelong dream to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It began with oddball comedy gigs, local theatre, and stand-up sets at uni bars. From small parts in quirky Australian productions to sharing the screen with John Cena in Blockers, Viswanathan quietly built her Hollywood résumé until Marvel called.

When the offer for Thunderbolts came, she wasn’t gunning for the spotlight. In fact, she got the call while sick in bed. Director Jake Schreier pitched her the role of Mel, a sharp, loyal assistant to Julia Louis-Dreyfus’s scheming Valentina Fontaine. It was a role vacated by Ayo Edebiri, and Viswanathan stepped in with zero superhero baggage.
