Manjot Singh: I really love and respect Ayushmann Khurrana as an actor

Manjot Singh will be seen sharing screen space with Ayushmann Khurrana in the upcoming film Dream Girl. Manjot plays Ayushmann’s best friend in the film and we recently met the former and interacted with him about his character and his experience of working with the Andhadhun star.

In the film, Ayushmann plays the role of a guy who works in a call centre and talks to people in a female voice with the name Pooja. His voice is so melodious that a few men fall in love with Pooja. When we asked Manjot, if he also falls in love with Pooja’s voice, the actor said, “I wish I could. But the voice is so beautiful that off-camera I had fallen in love, however on screen I play his best friend so I can’t make love with him.”

When asked him how his experience of working with Ayushmann was, Manjot said, “It was great working with him. His journey and his struggle, I haven’t gone through that. So, in experience and struggle, he is senior to me. He was in Roadies and look at him now, there’s a drastic change. I respect him a lot for the hard work he has done. I really love him as an actor and respect him as an actor. On the sets, he was like a brother. When we started shooting for this film before that Badhaai Ho and Andhadhun had released and became massive hits, so it was there in my mind how he would behave with me. But I didn’t get a feeling of a co-actor, we were like brothers. We used to hang out, chill and eat together. He used to even guide me.”

Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, Dream Girl is slated to hit the screens on 13th September 2019. It also stars Nushrat Bharucha in the lead role.
