Kangana Ranaut’s sister defends Kabir Singh, says Alia Bhatt’s Safeena in Gully Boy was more violent

After the release of Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh, there have been a lot of debates about the film’s storyline. The character, Kabir Singh, was shown to be authoritative towards his girlfriend and in one of the scenes he also slaps Kiara Advani’s character. Amidst the whole controversy revolving around the film, the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial has done exceptionally well at the box office.

Recently, Kangana Ranaut’s sister, Rangoli, took to Twitter to compare Kabir Singh’s character with Alia Bhatt’s character Safeena in Gully Boy. In multiple tweets, she wrote, “yeh jo berozgaar anpadh gawar feminazi jo Kabir Singh pe kood pade hai, Inko Gully Boy ke Safeena @aliaa08 mein kuch burai nahin lagi, she was violent, abusive and criminal beyond Kabir can ever be... every time her boy friend slept with another woman please note she never said anything to him, woh Raja beta hai, but she broke bottles on woman’s head, they are hospitalised and criminal cases were put on Safeena... woman against woman, if your man cheats on you don’t want to talk to you not take your calls go beat up the woman he likes, yeh sab feminist ispe khade hokar taliyaan marte hain... socho !!”

Rangoli also went on to say that outsiders should protect Sandeep Reddy Vanga. She tweeted, “I urge all outsiders to protect @imvangasandeep sir, He is no different than @ZoyaAkhtarOff so no step motherly treatment for him please ?”

Kabir Singh has collected Rs 223.50 crore at the box office in 16 days. It is already a blockbuster and looks like it will soon cross the collection of Uri: The Surgical Strike and become the highest grossing film of 2019 till date.

A few days ago, when the film crossed the 200 crore mark, Shahid Kapoor wrote a long post on Instagram thanking his fans and also mentioned about how flawed the character of Kabir Singh was. He posted, “Your love is so overwhelming words will always fall short. Thank you for understanding him forgiving him and loving him with all your heart. We all fall apart. And we all must strive to rise from our faults. To be better. To be wiser. To be kinder. He is flawed. So are we all. You didn’t judge him you experienced him. You understood him. I have never ever felt so thankful. The most flawed character I have ever played. Has become my most loved. Indeed indian cinema and the audience has come a long way. More power to brave choices. More power to you all for your maturity and humanness. You have given me wings to fly. To not only be burdened by the need to be loved to be a star but to have the courage to be hated in equal measure to be an actor. Here’s to cinema mirroring life. To protagonists who don’t have to be restricted by their goodness and can be human and imperfect. There is perfection in imperfection and that is the beauty and the challenge of this human life. Thank you. Again and again. You all are the heroes of this story.”
