Divya Khosla Kumar: I am a Salman Khan fan since childhood

Divya Khosla Kumar is back into the world of pop with her new music video titled Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi. The song is a recreated version of Falguni Pathak’s track and it has received a great response.

Divya started her career with music videos and later starred in the film Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo opposite Akshay Kumar. She has also featured in the single Honey Honey in which she got a chance to romance Salman Khan.

We recently met Divya for interaction and played a rapid-fire round with her. When we asked who’s her favourite co-star, Salman Khan or Akshay Kumar, Divya said, “Don’t put me in that fix, I love both of them. But actually I am a Salman Khan fan since childhood. I had a crush on Salman. From the moment I started watching his films as a kid like Maine Pyar Kiya and all, I fell in love and I have been in love since then (laughs).”

When probed her that so in the song Honey Honey it was all a reality and not acting, the actress stated, “I was in awe of him. After the shooting finished, I was still four days in awe.”

Our next question to her was which current generation actor she would like to work with, Varun Dhawan, Vicky Kaushal or Kartik Aaryan, to which Divya replied, “Oh My God! This is a lot of fixes. I think all of them are so talented, so I think all of them.”

Divya is not just an actress, but also a director and a producer. We further asked her which current generation actress she would like to put her money on as a producer, Sara Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor or Ananya Panday, so she said, “Frankly, I haven’t watched their films. I am very bad at watching films. Even if there’s a trial I don’t go for it as it happens so late in the night. But I guess Sara.”

Divya will be making her big-screen comeback after a gap of 16 years with the film Satyameva Jayate 2 which also stars John Abraham in the lead role.

There’s a quiet shift happening on streaming platforms this year. Indian mythological stories, once treated as children’s animation or festival reruns, have started landing on global services with serious ambition. These titles are travelling further than they ever have, including into the UK’s busy OTT space.

It’s about scale, quality, and the strange comfort of old stories in a digital world that changes too fast. And in a UK market dealing with subscription fatigue, anything fresh, strong, and rooted in clear storytelling gets noticed.
