Dhagala Lagali from Dream Girl: Ayushmann and Riteish make this recreated version enjoyable

It is a trend now that every film at least has one song that’s a recreated version of an old classic track. Continuing with the trend, the makers of Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Dream Girl has come up with the recreated version of the old Marathi song Dhagala Lagali.

Ayushmann took to Twitter to share the song with his fans. He tweeted, " Aala re Aala! ⚡ Get ready for this legendary track to pump you up this festive season! #DhagalaLagali song out now! https://bit.ly/DhagalaLagaliSong #DreamGirl @NushratBharucha @riteishd @ektaravikapoor @ruchikaakapoor @writerraj #AnnuKapoor @nowitsabhi @ActorVijayRaaz @oyemanjot.”

The original song from the film Bot Lavin Tithe Gudgulya featured Dada Kondke and was a huge hit. The recreated version is composed and sung by Meet Bros and also has vocals of Mika Singh and Jyotica Tangri. It is a decent track but fails to recreate the magic of the original song.

The recreate version features lead actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrat Bharucha, and there’s our very own bhau (brother), Riteish Deshmukh along with them. Ayushmann and Riteish are actually the saving grace of the song. The two have danced very well. However, Nushrat fails to make an impact and also the choreography of the song could have been better.

Till now, the trailer and all the songs of Dream Girl have created a good pre-release buzz and looking at Ayushmann’s record from the past couple of years, we can expect that this film too will get a good response at the box office.  In the movie, Ayushmann plays the role of a guy who portrays the characters of Sita and Radha in theatre plays. He also starts talking to men in a female voice with the name Pooja.

Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, Dream Girl is slated to release on 13th September 2019. The movie also stars Annu Kapoor, Vijay Raaz, and Manjot Singh.

You arrive in Kochi, and it feels like the sea air makes everything slightly sharper; faces in the city look purposeful, a film poster peels at the corner of a wall. In a city that has cradled a thriving film industry for decades, a single crime on the night of 17 February 2017 ruptured the ordinary: an abduction, a recorded sexual assault and a survivor who reported it the next day. What happened next is every woman’s unspoken nightmare, weaponised into brutal reality. It was a public unpeeling of an industry’s power structures, a slow-motion fight over evidence and testimony, and a national debate about how institutions protect (or fail) women.

For over eight years, her fight for justice became a mirror held up to an entire industry and a society. It was a journey from the dark confines of that car to the glaring lights of a courtroom, from being a silenced victim to becoming a defiant survivor whose voice sparked a revolution. This is not just the story of a crime. It is the story of what happens when one woman says, "Enough," and the tremors that follow.
