Dhadak bags ₹ 51.56 crores in the first week

Dhadak, starring newcomers Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar in lead roles, has performed exceptionally well over its first week at the domestic box-office. Strong word-of-mouth has helped the film do well across the country.

The Shashank Khaitan directorial opened its box-office account with ₹ 8.71 crores on 20th July, and grew really well over the weekend. It maintained its pace during weekdays also, which led it to end its first week at an impressive ₹ 51.56 crore.

The audience has liked the crackling chemistry between Ishaan Khattar and Janhvi Kapoor. A certain section of the audience is also making a beeline for cinema halls as they want to know whether or not Sridevi’s daughter, Janhvi Kapoor, lived up to the expectations.


Produced by Dharma Productions in association with Zee Studios, Dhadak is an official remake of Marathi masterpiece Sairat, which was directed by Nagraj Manjule.

The film is now looking at crossing ₹ 70 crore mark by the end of its second week at the ticket window.
