Bhumi Pednekar starrer Durgavati starts rolling

Bhumi Pednekar had an amazing 2019 and she has some interesting films in her kitty this year as well. One of them is Durgavati, a remake of Anushka Shetty’s Telugu film Bhaagamathie.

The shooting of the film kickstarts today and Bhumi took to Instagram to inform her fans about it. She posted, “With her blessings we start #Durgavati ?? The movie is presented by Akshay Kumar and Bhushan Kumar, and produced by Abundantia Entertainment. It is being directed by G. Ashok who had also helmed Bhaagamathie. The film also stars Mahie Gill in a pivotal role.

A few days ago, while talking about Durgavati, Bhumi had stated, "Durgavati is going to take me in horror space. It is the most challenging and special film for me as it is for the first time the responsibility will be on my shoulders. Durgavati is something I'm most pressured and excited about. Akshay sir is a genius, I respect him.”

Well, this is not the only horror film Bhumi is starring in. She will also be seen in Dharma Productions’ Bhoot - Part One: The Haunted Ship. While talking about that film, she had said, "Bhoot ... is going to be a genre-breaking horror film. The team that is making the film is very close to me and I have read the script. The film is going to be one of its kind visually. It is going to open up the horror genre in India.”

Apart from Durgavati and Bhoot - Part One: The Haunted Ship, Bhumi has films like Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare, Mr. Lele and Takht in her kitty.

Diagnosis kept private during treatment

TV doctor Punam Krishan has revealed she was diagnosed with breast cancer five months ago and has now completed her treatment.

The Glasgow-born GP, 42, shared the news in an Instagram post alongside a photo of herself in a hospital bed, saying she is now healing but remains emotionally shaken by the experience.
