Akshay Kumar starrer Laxmmi Bomb to release on Disney+ Hotstar on Diwali this year

Akshay Kumar starrer Laxmmi Bomb was slated to hit the big screens on Eid this year. But the film was postponed due to the pandemic and later the makers decided to release it directly on the OTT platform, Disney+ Hotstar.

A few days ago, there were reports that the movie might release on 9th September, on Akshay’s birthday, but that didn’t happen. Now, Akshay has announced that the film will start streaming on Diwali this year.


He posted a motion poster on Instagram and captioned it as, “Iss Diwali aapke gharon mein “laxmmi” ke saath ek dhamakedar “bomb” bhi aayega. Well, the motion poster is interesting and what impresses us the most is the background music, it will surely give you goosebumps.

Directed by Raghava Lawrence, Laxmmi Bomb is a horror-comedy and also stars Kiara Advani. It is a remake of Tamil film Muni 2: Kanchana which was also directed by Lawrence and he had played the lead role in it. The movie revolves around a male character who gets possessed by a ghost of a transgender and starts behaving weirdly.

The government intends to introduce facial age-estimation technology in 2026 to verify the ages of migrants claiming to be under 18, particularly those arriving on small boats from France. Officials say the move will help prevent adults from posing as children to exploit the asylum system.
