After beating the virus, Pooja Hegde stresses the need for post recovery care

By: Mohnish Singh

Popular actress Pooja Hegde, who tested positive for the coronavirus on April 26 and successfully recovered earlier this month, has now shared her experience of dealing with the deadly virus.

“It was a crazy period. The experience of losing your sense of smell was a very weird sensation. Other than I was pretty okay with everything,” she tells an Indian publication.

The actress adds that she is lucky to have survived the virus with mild symptoms. “I am feeling good now. I was lucky and one of the fortunate ones to have a not very bad case and I had very mild symptoms. I am okay now. I have been a little careful even after testing negative. I did not overexert myself because they say it is important to take care of yourself after you recover,” adds she.

Stressing the need for post-recovery care to beat the lingering effects of the virus, the Housefull 4 (2019) actress says, “Post recovery care is very important. You have to drink a lot of water. Even your skin and hair become very dry. Your energy levels dip and you feel down. So, you need to take care of these things by eating very well. That is very important. It is just so that you do not get a relapse. Your body has fought a lot, the infection, and it needs to have its downtime and get the rest to fully recover.”

On the work front, Pooja Hegde has several exciting projects in the pipeline. She will next be seen in the Telugu film Most Eligible Bachelor, alongside Akhil Akkineni. The actress also plays the female lead in Radhe Shyam. The multilingual film, directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, stars Prabhas as the male lead.

She has also completed a major portion of Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus, co-starring Jacqueline Fernandez and Ranveer Singh. Her film Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali with Salman Khan is expected to roll towards the end of the year. Hegde also plays an important role in Chiranjeevi’s Acharya.

'Thudarum' review round-up: Mohanlal returns to form in a dark, emotional ride that’s winning hearts

Director Tharun Moorthy’s Thudarum has drawn attention not just for its gripping storyline, but for bringing back the Mohanlal audiences have longed to see: an actor rooted in emotion rather than spectacle. With critics praising both the writing and performances, Thudarum has emerged as a memorable addition to Mohanlal’s long filmography, with reviewers calling it a return to form.

Across the board, reviewers highlight how the film presents Mohanlal as Shanmugham (nicknamed Benz), a humble taxi driver and former stuntman who now lives a quiet life in a Kerala village with his wife, played by Shobana, and two children. His prized possession is his old black Ambassador car, a gift from a mentor which becomes central to the plot when it’s unknowingly used, setting off a chain of devastating events.

Can Sreeleela fill the big Bollywood void?

It is no secret that Bollywood is facing a talent drought. While established stars continue to dominate screens, there is a clear gap when it comes to younger actors making a strong mark.

Into this space steps Sreeleela, a fast-rising actor from the South who has begun to attract serious attention in Hindi cinema.

‘Jewel Thief’ review: Critics call it a predictable heist film with uninspired direction

The much-anticipated heist film Jewel Thief promised a thrilling ride with high-stakes action and suspense. However, early reviews suggest that the film falls short of expectations, leaving viewers underwhelmed by its predictable plot and lacklustre execution.

The premise of Jewel Thief centres around a master thief who is forced by a menacing antagonist to steal a rare diamond. Critics, however, note that while the plot has the potential to be gripping, the execution doesn’t quite live up to the hype. The film is described as a "predictable heist" where the twists are "painfully obvious" from the start, offering little in terms of suspense or surprise. The film’s plot quickly devolves into a familiar, formulaic chase that never quite finds its footing.
