Aamir Khan meets the First Lady of Turkey, faces backlash on Twitter

Aamir Khan is currently in Turkey to shoot for his movie Laal Singh Chaddha. The shooting of the film was stalled due to the pandemic and now, the makers have decided to wrap up the shoot in Turkey.

Recently, Aamir met the First Lady of Turkey, Emine Erdogan. According to the official website of Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, Erdogan received the actor at the presidential residence at the Huber Mansion in Istanbul on Saturday, India’s 74th Independence Day.


Emine Erdogan also took to Twitter to share her pictures with Aamir. She tweeted, “I had the great pleasure of meeting @aamir_khan, the world-renowned Indian actor, filmmaker, and director, in Istanbul. I was happy to learn that Aamir decided to wrap up the shooting of his latest movie ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ in different parts of Turkey. I look forward to it!”

However, people on social media are not very happy about Aamir meeting the First Lady of Turkey. They have been bashing the actor and stating that they won’t watch his movie Laal Singh Chaddha.

A Twitter user wrote, “Do us a favor give him the citizenship ! We don't want him in india !!”

Another user wrote, “I'm sry amir sir ...but it's a insult to India.... Turkis president always supports Pakistan & give hate statment about India...”

Laal Singh Chaddha was slated to release on Christmas this year, but due to the pandemic, the makers have now postponed the release to Christmas 2021. Directed by Advait Chandan, the movie is a remake of Hollywood film Forrest Gump. It also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead role.
