A new show Jalsa in the works at Swastik Productions

Swastik Productions, one of the leading production houses in Indian television space, known for producing such successful shows as Mahabharata, Karmaphal Daata Shani and Porus, is set to bring a new show called Jalsa.

In the past, the production house has mostly produced historical and mythological dramas for various leading Hindi entertainment channels. But this time around, the makers are planning to tackle a new genre.

Yes, their new show Jalsa will be a rom-com, something which the production house has never attempted before. ‘The casting for Jalsa will begin soon, and the show is being pitched to top GECs. Sony TV and Colors are their top choices,’ a source reveals.

The same production house has also launched a new mythological show Radha-Krishna on Star Bharat.

Highlights

  • Dave Bautista is taking over as Kratos after Ryan Hurst's injury forced Amazon to recast the role.
  • The series is effectively starting again, with none of the footage from the original production being used.
  • The major reset puts fresh pressure on Amazon's attempt to adapt one of gaming's most recognisable franchises.

Hurst reportedly tore his bicep while performing a stunt in June, around four months into filming. Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television subsequently decided to recast the central role.
