Peepli Live is a satirical comedy film that explores the topic of "farmer suicides" and the subsequent media and political response. Peepli Live was India's official entry for the 83rd Academy Awards Best Foreign Film category although it was not nominated. This political satire is directed by Anusha Rizvi featuring Omkar Das Manikpuri who was critically acclaimed.

Satyagraha is a political drama film directed by Prakash Jha. The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgan, Manoj Bajpai, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor and Amrita Rao. Kareena plays a news reporter Yasmin Ahmad who joins the anti-corruption movement against a minister accused of demagoguery. The end result of the film is brilliant and it encourages to raise your voice against injustice.
