‘Thalaivar 170’: Rajinikanth and Big B wrap Mumbai schedule

Legendary Indian actors Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan wrapped up the Mumbai schedule of their upcoming film Thalaivar 170.

Bankrolled under the banner of Lyca Productions, the film reunites the two after a massive gap of 33 years.

They previously shared the screen space in such blockbuster films as Hum, Andhaa Kaanoon, and Geraftaar. Their last collaboration, Hum, hit the screens in 1991.

Taking to X, Lyca Productions shared a picture from the sets of Thalaivar 170 and announced the schedule wrap.

Thalaivar 170 is being directed by TJ Gnanavel. In addition to Rajinikanth and Big B, the film also features Ritika Singh, Manju Warrier, Tushara Vijayan, Rana Daggubati, and Fahadh Faasil on the cast.

Not much is known about the plotline of the film, but if reports are to be believed, Rajinikanth is expected to play a retired police officer in the film.

The film’s music has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander, and it is expected to hit the big screens in mid-2024.

Rajinikanth was most recently seen in Jailer, which turned out to be a massive success at the box office.

Amitabh Bachchan, on the other hand, was most recently seen in Vikas Bahl’s Ganapath: A Hero is Born alongside Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon.

His next projects include the sci-fi action thriller film Kalki 2898 AD and a courtroom drama film, Section 84.

Earlier, Rajinikanth took to social media to express his joy at collaborating with Amitabh Bachchan once again after more than three decades. He wrote, “After 33 years, I am working again with my mentor, the phenomenon, Shri Amitabh Bachchan in the upcoming Lyca’s Thalaivar 170, directed by T.J Gnanavel. My heart is brimming with joy!”

How your local pharmacist can help you stay healthy

Faruque Gani

This week is ‘Ask Your Pharmacist Week’, which encourages people to make better use of their local pharmacist – not just for prescriptions, but for advice, support, and everyday health concerns. Faruque Gani is a community pharmacist in London and tells us more about how he helps local patients stay in control of their health.

‘I’ve been working as a community pharmacist for over 30 years. In that time, the services that pharmacists can offer have expanded, and many people don’t realise how much we can now do for them. When you go to a pharmacy, more often than not, it’s probably just to pick up a prescription, but we can actually help with a lot more than that. We can provide advice and recommend over the counter medicines, offer some health checks and we can even give some prescription-only medicines for some conditions without you needing to see a doctor at all.
