Sanju has proved once again that only content sells at the box-office. The Rajkumar Hirani directorial, which stars Ranbir Kapoor in the role of Sanjay Dutt, has emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters of Hindi cinema within 9 days of its theatrical release.

The movie, which closed out its first week at an impressive ₹ 202.51 crore, crossing the lifetime collection of Hirani’s previous blockbuster 3 Idiots (2009), pulled in ₹ 12.50 crore on the first day of its second week i.e Friday. Sanju now stands tall with a whopping collection of approximately ₹ 234.crore. Today is Sunday and the film is expected to jump further all across the country. It will easily mint around ₹ 22-25 crores today, which means its entry in the coveted ₹ 250 crore club is guaranteed

What remains to be seen is whether or not it will manage to rise to ₹ 300 within its second week. However, looking at the robust performance of the flick, the journey does not seem impossible.

Sanju is a Rajkumar Hirani Film and Vinod Chopra Films venture presented by Fox Star Studios.
