Sab Kushal Mangal movie review: This Akshaye Khanna starrer is a bland film

We would like to start this review with a question. What made Akshaye Khanna sign Sab Kushal Mangal? The actor has done many comedy films where his acting tickled our funny bones. So, when after a long gap he decided to make a comeback in the comedy genre, we expected the film to be good. But unfortunately, that doesn’t happen here.

Sab Kushal Mangal is about three characters, Baba Bhandari (Akshaye Khanna), Pappu Mishra (Priyaank Sharma) and Mandira (Riva Kishan). Bhandari is a politician and a local goon in Karnalganj. He kidnaps guys and makes them get married to girls forcefully (Jabariya Jodi). Pappu a TV journalist does a story about Baba Bhandari and soon he is kidnapped by Bhandari to get married to Mandira (Riva Kishan). But things don’t go as planned and then Bhandari falls in love with Mandira.

Writer-director Karan Vishwanath Kashyap has made a very boring film. The story is uninteresting, the screenplay is dull, and more than a Bollywood film, it looks like a regional movie. The film clearly offers nothing interesting or entertaining. In a comedy film, dialogues play an important part, but here even the dialogues are boring. We really wonder why this movie was even made.

Akshaye Khanna is one of the most talented actors of Bollywood, but in this film, he is totally wasted. We actually started feeling bad watching him play such a horribly written character. Priyaank Sharma and Riva Kishan are decent. We wish to see them in a good film. Satish Kaushik and Supriya Pathak have performed very well. Rakesh Bedi is wasted.

Talking about music, the only song which impresses us a bit is Zamana Badal Gaya. Riva Kishan has danced quite well in it.

Overall, Sab Kushal Mangal is a boring film and it will put you to sleep.
