Mohit Suri to work on Aashiqui 3 after Ek Villain 2?

2013 release Aashiqui 2 starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor was a super hit at the box office. The film was directed by Mohit Suri and the songs of the film are still loved by the audiences. The movie surely became a turning point for Shraddha, Aditya, and Mohit.

A few years ago, the makers had announced the third instalment of the film with Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. However, the film never went on the floors and Sidharth and Alia, who were reportedly dating then, broke up.

Now, Mohit is planning to once again revive the Aashiqui franchise and will reportedly, start working on Aashiqui 3 after warping up Ek Villain 2.

A source told a daily, “Mohit is very gung-ho on Aashiqui 3. Aashiqui 2 put him back on track and ended a bleak period for him. It also marked Aditya Roy Kapur’s first hit after two flops as a side hero and Shraddha Kapoor’s first hit after three flops. Hence it has been a watershed moment in their lives and Mohit is said to start scripting the film when he completes Ek Villain 2. He already has a germ of the idea with him.”

Well, it will be interesting to see whether the film will star Sidharth and Alia, or some other actors will be roped in for the film.

Meanwhile, Mohit, who is riding high with the success of Malang, is gearing up for Ek Villain 2 which stars Aditya Roy Kapur, John Abraham, Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria. The film is slated to release on 8th January 2021.
