Mo Farah controversy: Rob Chakraverty resigns

ENGLAND’s team doctor Rob Chakraverty, who was under intense scrutiny following the Mo Farah controversy, has resigned on Friday (20),  the Football Association said.

Rob Chakraverty joined the England football team in 2016

During his time with the team, England reached football World Cup semi-finals in Russia.

The doctor was under scrutiny following allegations which dated back to his time as UK Athletics’ chief medical officer between 2013 and 2016.

Chakraverty was involved in a controversial procedure on four-time Olympic gold medallist Mo Farah.

He carried out an infusion of the legal supplement L-Carnitine on Farah before the 2014 London Marathon, but failed to record the levels.

“The FA can confirm Dr Rob Chakraverty is to stand down from his role with the England senior men’s team,” A spokesperson for English football’s governing body said

“We would like to offer our sincere thanks to Rob, not just for his part in the team’s progress since 2016, but also in sharing his expertise across the wider medical department. We wish him every success for the future.”

A decision regarding his replacement will be made ahead of the next England camp, whenever scheduled, a statement said.

"The team and players have been wonderful to work with and the memories of what we achieved together at the World Cup two years ago will stay with me forever," Rob Chakraverty said.

Sonam Kapoor has once again made a case for Indian craftsmanship, this time with a look that brought together traditional art, classic silhouettes and elaborate jewellery.

The actress stepped out for a jewellery brand event in a striking black anarkali, but it was her statement dupatta that became the centrepiece of the look. Created by Shanti Banaras, the drape was crafted on a tussar georgette base and drew its visual inspiration from traditional Pichwai paintings.
