Kajal Aggarwal to play the female lead in Mumbai Saga

Sanjay Gupta announced his directorial Mumbai Saga a couple of months ago. The film stars John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi in the lead roles along with Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Gulshan Grover, Rohit Roy, Samir Soni, Amole Gupte and Prateik Babbarr in pivotal roles. While we knew that the film has a strong male cast, we all were waiting to know who will be the female lead in the film.

And now, it has been revealed that Kajal Aggarwal will be seen as the female lead in the movie. The actress will be seen opposite John Abraham and will have different looks in the film. Gupta told a tabloid, “The most important thing is that my gangster films often also have strong female characters. This character starts off as John’s girlfriend, then becomes his wife. So, I needed an actress who could play a 17-year-old college girl, a young wife and then, a strong woman in her 30s. I’m an admirer of Kajal’s work, she looks lovely and has a great screen presence. I’m glad we’re collaborating on this film.”

While John will be having a female lead opposite him, Emraan won’t have anyone to romance in the film. Gupta revealed, “There have been a lot of rumours and reports around his love interest in the film. But there’s no girl with Emraan. There is Anjana Sukhani, but she’s playing one of the characters. Kajal is the female lead. In keeping with her character graph, she will have three looks in the film.”

This will be for the first time when Kajal will be teaming up with Sanjay Gupta and John Abraham. Earlier, Sanjay and John have worked together in Shootout At Wadala.

The shooting of Mumbai Saga kickstarted on 27th August 2019 and the film will hit the screens on 19th June 2020. While talking about his first-day shoot with John, Gupta stated, “When we wrapped up the first day’s shoot, I could see the change in John, the way he prepares for and approaches his scenes."

'Thudarum' review round-up: Mohanlal returns to form in a dark, emotional ride that’s winning hearts

Director Tharun Moorthy’s Thudarum has drawn attention not just for its gripping storyline, but for bringing back the Mohanlal audiences have longed to see: an actor rooted in emotion rather than spectacle. With critics praising both the writing and performances, Thudarum has emerged as a memorable addition to Mohanlal’s long filmography, with reviewers calling it a return to form.

Across the board, reviewers highlight how the film presents Mohanlal as Shanmugham (nicknamed Benz), a humble taxi driver and former stuntman who now lives a quiet life in a Kerala village with his wife, played by Shobana, and two children. His prized possession is his old black Ambassador car, a gift from a mentor which becomes central to the plot when it’s unknowingly used, setting off a chain of devastating events.

This April, audiences in Leicester are invited to experience Songs of the Bulbul — a powerful new dance production by acclaimed choreographer Aakash Odedra. Staged at the Curve Theatre, this evocative performance blends classical dance with spiritual storytelling, music, and visual elegance.

Inspired by an ancient Sufi myth, Songs of the Bulbul brings to life the haunting tale of a bulbul (nightingale) held in captivity. The narrative draws deeply from mystic symbolism, exploring themes of longing, freedom, and the soul’s journey through confinement and release.
