HH Mahant Swami Maharaj visits Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

Interfaith harmony and cultural inclusiveness were discussed during a meeting between His Holiness (HH) Mahant Swami Maharaj, spiritual head of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, and Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates government on Sunday (21).

The Minister of State for Tolerance took HH Mahant Swami Maharaj on a guided tour of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, where the saint paid respects to the 99 names of Allah inscribed in Kufic calligraphy script.


Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan gifted HH Mahant Swami Maharaj a book about the Grand Mosque, and in return he received an auspicious golden Amrut Kalash (Vessel of Immortality) as a token of appreciation for the love and kindness bestowed by him upon the Indian community.

Signing the guest book after the tour, HH Mahant Swami Maharaj commended the efforts undertaken by the UAE government to ensure global harmony.

Brahmavihari Swami, who is overseeing the construction of the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi, highlighted the love and warmth that both the places of worship uphold and share.

HH Mahant Swami Maharaj also conveyed his gratitude to the minister for his wholehearted support for the Mandir.

HH Mahant Swami Maharaj was accompanied by 50 BAPS sadhus and Dr B R Shetty, chairman of Mandir Limited.

Rochdale child sex offender banned from returning to UK

A CONVICTED child sexual abuser from Rochdale has been permanently banned from returning to Britain after secretly leaving the country.

Adil Khan, 55, who was one of the ringleaders behind a group of men convicted of abusing young girls in Rochdale, is understood to have left the UK last month, reported the Telegraph. Police discovered he was missing during a routine check at his home.
