Saqib Bhatti, Gagan Mohindra among new shadow ministerial appointments

CONSERVATIVE leader Kemi Badenoch has announced her shadow ministerial team, with Saqib Bhatti MP appointed shadow minister of state for culture, media, and sport, and Gagan Mohindra MP named shadow co-deputy chief whip.

The shadow cabinet appointments include Gareth Davies as shadow financial secretary to the treasury, James Wild as shadow exchequer secretary, and Mark Garnier as shadow economic secretary. Wendy Morton has been named shadow minister of state for foreign, commonwealth, and development affairs, while Matt Vickers takes on the role at the Home Office.


Other key appointments include Mike Wood as shadow minister for the cabinet office, Mark Francois for defence, and Kieran Mullan for justice. Neil O’Brien steps into the education role, Dr Caroline Johnson will handle health and social care, and David Simmonds will oversee levelling up, housing, and communities.

Additional appointments include Robbie Moore as shadow minister for environment, food, and rural affairs, Harriet Baldwin for business and trade, Danny Kruger for work and pensions, and Jerome Mayhew for transport. Dr Ben Spencer has been named for science, innovation, and technology, while Andrew Bowie takes the energy and net zero role. Mims Davies will serve as shadow minister for women.

The legal positions in the shadow cabinet go to Lord David Wolfson as shadow attorney general and Helen Grant as shadow solicitor general.

Additional shadow ministerial and Lords roles will be announced at a later date.

ASIAN charity The Bhavan has warned that the newly announced parking restrictions in Hammersmith and Fulham could severely disrupt its operations and threaten its long-term sustainability.

The proposed changes to the Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ D) will extend enforcement hours to 8.30am–10pm, seven days a week, with a maximum stay of one hour.
