POSITIONED as president and managing director of Warner Bros. Discovery, EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Asia), Priya Dogra, is one of the most influential leaders in the global media scene. Prior to this, Dogra was managing WarnerMedia's operations in the EMEA region (excluding China).

Based in London, Dogra’s present focus is also on EMEA (excluding Poland), had handpicked the best talents from both the Discovery and WarnerMedia to set up her team. “My focus has been to build a senior team that harnesses and balances the experience, perspective and talent from across the Discovery and WarnerMedia businesses,” Dogra had said.

Although an Indian by birth, Dogra spent majority of her time in Canada and the US.  Her parents were settled in Canada. She graduated in commerce and computer science from the University of Toronto.

“Three years into the degree, I realised that computer science was not my passion. I knew, it wouldn't be my career. I wanted to pursue a career in business instead,” she recalls.

After an investment banking stint at Citigroup, Dogra joined Time Warner, Inc. and spent significant portion of her career working in New York. She joined as the head of Time Warner’s mergers and acquisitions (M&A) division in 2009. She was promoted as executive vice president, strategy and corporate development in 2015.

Dogra supervised the company’s major investment in Hulu in 2016. Besides, she played key role in developing the Time Warner’s global growth strategies, managing all the major M&A and investment activities of the multi-media giant.

Being a key negotiator of Time Warner’s $109 billion merger deal with AT&T, Dogra was one of only four company insiders to know about initial negotiations. “It was complicated. When you work on deals that hit the world news, it changes things,” said Dogra, who is still tight-lipped on the details of her job striking mergers and acquisitions at Time Warner.

Dogra is presently responsible for overseeing a diverse portfolio of functions across brands including streaming services, movies, sports, television networks, home entertainment, as well as programming and local production.

She is a member of the University of Toronto International Leadership Council. In May 2019, Priya received the University’s Desmond Parker Outstanding Young Alumni Award and the Arbor Award in 2021 which recognises outstanding volunteer commitment to the university.
