Man charged with murder of wife in Milton Keynes

A man has been charged with murder in Milton Keynes after his wife's body was found with 'significant injuries'.

Anil Gill, 46, of Beresford Close in Emerson Valley, has been charged with murder of Ranjit Gill, 43, whose body was found in £300,000 suburban semi in Milton Keynes, on Sunday(31) morning.

Thames Valley Police say formal identification has yet to have taken place, but they believe the woman to be his wife, Ranjit Gill, reported The Daily Mail.

Gill was later produced at Milton Keynes Magistrates' Court.

The police said they were called to the house at 10.10am on Sunday morning and found the woman with 'significant injuries'.

"They have lived here for about 15 years. I don't know their names. From what I understand, it was the man who lives there who dialled 999," a neighbour told The Daily Mail.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Superintendent Justin Fletcher of Thames Valley Police's Major Crime Unit, said that they have launched a murder investigation following the death of a woman.

"We are in the very early stages of our investigation; however at this time we believe this to be an isolated incident and a man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

"We are carrying out house to house enquiries, but would appeal to anyone who may have information that could assist us in our investigation to please call 101 quoting reference 43210042051, or alternatively you can report 100% anonymously to the independent Charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
