What You Should Avoid Sharing on social media

By: Eastern Eye Staff

Social networking platforms are an addiction, if you are not careful, you may share more than you should. Remember, most people you do not know and have never met. Nowadays, there are many platforms to engage with more people. And continue spending time on these sites. It is not a waste of time if you are using social media to connect with people, and it benefits you, or you can buy Instagram likes to boost the look of your Instagram business page. Therefore, with all the things happening on social media. The friends, strangers, hackers, and much more. You need to know what you share, for not everything about you should be out there.

Untrue statements about someone

Social media is a no-no if you plan to use it as a revenge tool. In this way, you hurt other people with the help of social media. Plus, you never know how far your post can affect someone as it can depress them. Thus, it is best to avoid this at all costs, for whoever you are shaming on social media can take extreme steps tomorrow. Plus, the result can cause you to face legal action, and you may end up feeling guilty your whole life.

Screenshots of personal conversations

Remember screenshots of personal are private. Thus, they should be private and not on social media for all to see. If you share them there, you may get a few likes. But they are not from people who care about you. Plus, no one will value or trust you if you can share personal conversations on the media, and you had it when alone and privately. Even though it is to prove a point, it is insulting and a lack of social media etiquette.

Explicit content

This type of content is one you should not share even when you are out of your mind. The internet is huge, viral and you may end up on the wrong site before you know you made a mistake. Plus, the content on the internet stays there even if you delete it. Also, if it is not permitted by local law, you may get caught in lawsuits. So be safe and beware.

Your phone number and home address

The only reason you should share your phone number and home address on your social media platforms are if your social profile is narrow. And your followers are few trustworthy people. But, if your profile is the opposite, do not share. But if a site requires this, you can always change the setting to only you for security reasons.

Your countless selfies

Selfies are not as trendy as they were years back. But still, even when they were, no one wants to see your everyday selfies. It is annoying to your followers and your friends too, even when they say otherwise. Seeing the same face every time with the same clothes, just different poses, will cost your friends and many others blocking you. If this is your social media habit, stop it before it gets annoying.

Open invites

Asking who wants to go for a movie with you to strangers on your social media living far away is unnecessary and unrealistic. Sharing such open invites on social profiles is wrong, for they cannot go, and it is illogical to post them. This is also a way to share an alert with thieves who want to know when you are not home.

Confessions

Why would you have to share your confessions with everyone on social media who have no idea what is going on and has nothing to do with it. It is best to look for who it relates to and confess to them privately. It may not be easy to ask for an apology but avoid posting it on social media.

Conclude, it is vital to avoid doing the above on social media. Remember, social media is your brand, and you need to showcase what is necessary to support your brand. So, the above, your financial status, what you had for lunch, or wishes for someone not on your friend list is the best to avoid it.
