Varun Dhawan, who was last seen in Dharma Productions’ period drama Kalank (2019), has a number of projects on his plate. One of them is a biopic based on the life of Arun Khetarpal, the youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient. The film reunites the star with well-known filmmaker Sriram Raghavan after four years. The duo last worked together on Badlapur which hit the marquee in 2015.

Filmmaker Sriram Raghavan said he would make sure to treat Varun Dhawan like a newcomer on the upcoming biopic on Arun Khetarpal. The director added that the actor will have to undergo extensive training to be able to bring authenticity to the film.

“He has to lose weight. He has to work on the physicality. He has to go through a lot of training be it physical, the army kind of training. He has to go through and learn what the real guys do. It is much more real. It is an army film, so we want to be authentic. We are working that out now (training at army camps),” said the filmmaker.

Raghavan said that his team is leaving no stone unturned to get all the facts and information right for the upcoming project. “Every film has its own challenges. For this film, we are making sure to get everything correct. We have got information from the family,” he added.
