Tom Cruise tucks into curry at Asha Bhosle's restaurant

A famous Hollywood actor was not concerned about the fuss around the word 'curry' in the recent weeks, as he polished off not one but two chicken tikka masalas during a break from filming Mission: Impossible 7 in Birmingham.

The actor here is Tom Cruise, 59, who on Saturday night headed to Newhall Street in Birmingham, and spent two hours at Asha's, an Indian restaurant owned by legendary singer Asha Bhosle. Cruise, as reported, also left a generous £60 tip.

The singer took to Twitter to express her happiness by the actor’s visit to her restaurant.

“I was very happy to hear that Mr. Tom Cruise enjoyed his fine dining experience at Asha’s (Birmingham) and I look forward to him visiting us again soon,” she tweeted.

Employees and staff were excited to serve the Hollywood star at their restaurant. Some of them also took to social media to share the news. The Top Gun star was also accompanied by his co-star Hayley Atwell as the pair filmed scenes in Birmingham's Bullring & Grand Central shopping centre.

"Tom ordered our famous Chicken Tikka Masala and enjoyed it so much that as soon as he had finished, he ordered it all over again - The greatest compliment," a restaurant staff said.

Production of Mission: Impossible 7 began again at the end of last month after being stopped and delayed many times due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The movie is set to be released on May 27, 2022.
