The Great Indian Laughter Challenge is all set to make a comeback with its fifth season along with the Khiladi actor Akshay Kumar.
According to the reports in a leading Indian daily, Sunil Grover is considered to be the host for the fifth season of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. Apparently, Elli Avram was considered to be the host for the show but buzz is that the makers of the show have reconsidered their decision.
“It’s a laughter show and we have had screen test and rehearsals with our mentors and host Elli. We now feel she doesn’t fit the bill and isn’t able to pull off Hindi as required for the show. We’re now in talks with Sunil Grover and working on the dates. If all goes well, we will have him as the host,” said a source.
The new season of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge will have a fresh concept wherein each team will have captains who will mentor their respective teams. Moreover, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha fame Akshay Kumar will be the super boss of the show.
Zakhir Khan, Mallika Dua and Hussain Dalal are confirmed as the mentors of the show. The Great Indian Laughter Challenge is known for giving a platform to many comedian artistes like Kapil Sharma, Bharti Singh, Raju Srivastava, Ahsaan Qureshi, Chandan Prabhakar and Sunil Pal, and many among these are a popular face of television.
The Great Indian Laughter Challenge 5 is all set to go on floors at the end of September.
