Best known for films like Masaan and Haraamkhor, actress Shweta Tripathi is trying her hands on film production. She believes that it will help her to explore, expand and grow. On being quizzed about her decision to step into production, Shweta Tripathi said, “It’s never too early to start doing something that excites you. I feel now is a great time to explore, expand and grow.”

Shweta started her career in the Hindi film industry by working as a debutante in the film Masaan in 2015. She was then featured in the film Haraamkhor.

When asked about her choice to work for the commercial films, she said, “I would love to do a commercial film. But my hero is the script. That has to woe me.”

Shweta is featured in a film Zoo which has been shot on a phone. The film was premiered at the Busan International Film Festival

Zoo, directed by Shlok Sharma, is India’s first iPhone film. It’s so much fun to try out something new. It was great to be shot on an iPhone… Very intimate. Just the actors and the cinematographer in the room. We didn’t even know where the camera was and that helped us be the character throughout,” she said.

Shweta Tripathi will also be seen as bride-to-be in one of the episodes in the web series Made In Heaven which is directed by Zoya Akhtar. It’s a 10 episode series about the rivalry between the two wedding firms. The series will be shot in Benaras.
