Earlier, there were reports about Saina Nehwal’s biopic getting shelved. Shraddha Kapoor was prepping for the film, which was supposedly to go on floors in October. On being asked about the current status of the film, Amole Gupte said to a leading Indian tabloid, “I have no idea why it is being deduced that the film has been shelved. We will start shooting this September. It’s the kind of film that requires brewing period.”
Amole added, “I have lived this film for two years. I have been making constant trips to Hyderabad, meeting Saina and taking notes. It was a mammoth task to make her journey into a script.”
Previously, a trade source told a leading Indian daily that the movie’s shooting dates have been postponed, “Shraddha and Saina had met on a few occasions. Preparations were on in full swing. However, the movie may not happen because of some other glitches.”
“The project has been pushed. One doesn’t know if it is indefinitely postponed or whether it has been deferred for a bit,” added another source.
Earlier, it was reported that Shraddha Kapoor is finding it difficult to learn the badminton game. It was also reported that Amole Gupte’s ill health caused delay in shooting the film. On being asked about the shoot being postponed, a source from the production had told to a leading Indian daily, “There is no official deadline on the film. Amole wants to make a good movie and that’s our priority. Even if there’s a slight delay, we have their back.”
