Bollywood film Padmavati’s first look of Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor has created enough excitement amongst the fans so much such that the actor Shahid Kapoor was bombarded with questions during a Facebook live chat.
Although the actor didn’t divulge in too many details when asked about the upcoming film, however he shared about his experience working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Padmavati.
“Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a genius. It is so difficult to explain the magic of working with him….working under him. I would rather say working under him and under his guidance. I think he is a master craftsman. I think his understanding of cinema and in-depth understanding of various aspects of cinema whether it’s music, the visuals, the drama, the emotions and the worlds that he discovers, I don’t think I have met a director like him. He has a plethora of talent within him. It’s been a magical journey. I feel very fortunate,” he said.
The actor further stated that it was challenging to play the role of the Rajput King in Padmavati. He hopes that his wife Mira is impressed by his work in the film. Talking about playing challenging roles, he said, “Haider, Udta Punjab and Padmavati were three of my toughest films and most challenging films to shoot, with the most exciting roles to play. I think Maharawal Ratan Singh is a character who is fantastic, it is difficult to explain in words. I feel it is premature to start talking about my character in the film, but I feel privileged to play a Rajput king, to be representing the culture of Chittor. I really can’t wait for the film to release.”
Helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Padmavati is slated to release on December 1. The film includes Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in the lead roles.
