Rumors are rife about Sanjay Leela Bhansali being quite a strict director for Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. Although, the actors have collaborated with him for the third time for their forthcoming, Padmavati, the director is said to be severe with Ranveer and Deepika only to dig out exceptional performances from the actors.
As per the reports in a leading entertainment portal, Ranveer Singh gets yelling from Sanjay Leela Bhansali if he delivers underrated performance for a scene. He would yell at him like “Kya goo hai!” (what crap this is). Moreover, he would also shout by saying, “Chhod de. Leave it. Let’s just all go home. You’re obviously not able to do it.”
A source disclosed the same to a magazine about Bhansali’s frustration over Deepika Padukone when she could not deliver perfect dance on the song Ghoomar. Bhansali, then, requested a technician to show her Madhuri Dixit’s song in Devdas. He found that Deepika was dancing gracelessly.
“He deliberately undermines his actors and pushes them harder to give more than they’re used to. They know it too, and that’s why they put up with it without complaining,” the source said.
During an interview, Bhansali was asked about whether or not he yells at his film’s unit, to which he replied, “It is a myth that Sanjay is a (tough) task master and that he shouts and bullies people. It is nothing like that. We have fun while working. Obviously, when something wrong happens, like if there is something dirty you will get angry. Small angers are permissible to everyone.”
