Saif Ali Khan finds the current trend of Indian cinema suitable for him

Known for his remarkable performances in Omkara, Love Aaj Kal, Dil Chahta Hai and Race, Saif Ali Khan completes 25 years in the film industry. Since almost two decades the actor has been playing various roles in all genres. Now, Saif brings much different character on screen, as he plays the role of a chef in his upcoming film Chef.

During a promotional tour of Chef, Saif was accompanied by the filmmaker Raja Krishna Menon and Malayalam actress Padmapriya Janakiraman, who congratulated him for his amazing progress as an actor.

In an interview, Saif spoke about his journey in the film industry and how he has evolved as an actor over the years. He said, “I think as an actor I have evolved to a huge amount. I am also very happy. I think I am the most suited to this time which is great. Some people may feel out of time. I remember when I joined the industry, guys like Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan were just little bit senior to me and I always wish they stay on top like they are now because that means I have slug for few more years.”

“But films were different in the 90’s. I feel our generation has made things quite cool by giving a heart and soul to the profession. And I am proud of that. I feel it’s a great time and I feel very comfortable today because with the kind of sensibility the films are now made, suits mentally which is wonderful,” he added.

Saif Ali Khan starrer Chef is an adaptation of Jon Favreau’s 2014 Hollywood film Chef. The movie is scheduled to release on October 6.
