Pulkit Samrat not burdened with the expectations from Fukrey Returns

As Fukrey is set to return with a sequel, Bollywood actor Pulkit Samrat said that the team of Fukrey is not pressured with the expectations with Fukrey Returns, as they had not anticipated the first installment of the film to be a success.

“We made the first part of Fukrey with just the hope that people will like it and the film went on to another level (referring it to be a super hit). So I am not keeping any burden on me, no expectations for the sequel,” said Pulkit to a leading Indian daily.

He added, “There was a little nervousness before we started but the moment we met, we bonded as the characters. We automatically came into that zone. We wouldn’t have been able to work if we gave in to the pressure.”

With no insensitive and double meaning jokes, the film is crafted with the sensibilities of all those are a part of the project.

On this note, Pulkit said, “Excel Entertainment has a certain sensibility with which they make films. We all, including Ritesh and Farhan, share the same sensibility. All the scripts I am sure go to Javed (Akhtar) uncle as well. You can’t pass anything crass with them.”

Talking about his films Sanam Rey which worked averagely at the box office, he was expecting Junooniyat to work but, however, it failed to garner accolades from the audience and the critics.

“Even T-Series was not expecting it to work (producer of both films). But that’s okay, it really doesn’t matter. You should keep working hard in the hope that people will appreciate it,” said Pulkit.

The 33 year old actor said that he believes in doing good work instead of sobbing over the failure of a film.

“I am neutral when a film fails. If you stop getting work, than it should stress you. If the offers are coming in, than that’s okay. One film might not work, the other will. There is no insecurity with regard to that (failure),” he said.
