Peer urges UK to ‘soften’ visas for foreign students as Britain slips to third place

by LAUREN CODLING AN ASIAN peer has predicted a “terrible” future for Britain if the UK government “fails to soften” policies governing visas for foreign students, as it emerged that Australia is overtaking the UK in the race to attract young people to study. Research from University College London released last week confirmed the UK has fallen to third place behind the United States and Australia as the world’s biggest destination for international pupils.
