My playlist – Imperial Desi

POPULAR DJ and talented radio host Imperial Desi has been connected with music from a young age. Born and raised in Canada, he went from being influenced by legendary British bhangra artists to a career using music to entertain audiences. His weekly Cruise Control radio show draws in listeners from around the world.

Eastern Eye got Imperial Desi to go through his mammoth music collection and select 10 songs he loves.

Sherni Banke by Navaan Sandhu: I really love this tune. It is a pure girl power anthem track, which packs a punch.

Jhanjar by Karan Aujla: For me anything from Karan is a home run. This guy is a lyrical machine and shows this brilliantly with every track.

Ik Main Kudi Punjabi by Jasmine Sandlas: The talented singing star continues to impress with each release. Track by track, including this one, she just produces hits and appeals to all.

Surma Surma by Guru Randhawa and Jay Sean: Two heavy hitters have come together in one track. They definitely did not disappoint with this super song.

Guzaare by InaiksBeats and Sudesh Kumari: I love the production on this track and Sudesh Kumari has that kind of voice that provides a beautiful folk vibe to the song.

Ptola by Mickey Singh and Pam Sengh: Mickey continues to push the urban desi vibe to new heights with great songs and collaborations. Pam Sengh is a new artist on the Treehouse camp and they totally killed it.

Old Skool by Prem Dhillon, Naseeb and Sidhu Moose Wala: This one is off the charts good. A lot of Canadian talent here and they did this track justice.

Sahiba by Simiran Kaur Dhadli & Intense: A great track from Intense, who continues to be a heavy hitter with his production and as an independent artist, dropping banger after banger.

Tu Hi Ah by The PropheC: Not many are doing what he does – sing, write and produce.

Meh Peeti by Panjabi MC: The legend doesn’t disappoint. One of the best albums of 2019. This tune is a banger.
