Last year, when #MeToo movement had become the talk of the town, there were sexual harassment allegations against the Super 30 director Vikas Bahl. He was dropped as the director of the film, but a few days ago, he got a clean chit by the internal committee of Reliance Entertainment and Phantom Films.

Recently, actress Mrunal Thakur, who makes her Bollywood debut with Super 30, spoke up about her experience of working with Vikas. While talking to a portal, she said, “I was comfortable shooting with him, he gave justice to my character, on-screen and off-screen. The allegations came out after I finished shooting. The makers are taking the decisions and will take the call. I might sound diplomatic, but my conversations with Vikas sir were just about asking details about my character. I would find out references and forward it to him. That was our conversation.”

While talking about the whole controversy surrounding Vikas, Mrunal told a news agency, “I thought about it but I realised, ‘what’s the fault of the film?’ The story is so wonderful, I have seen everyone working hard, while we were filming, everything was ok.”

“I didn’t want the film to be affected. I’m glad that after everything, things have been cleared and the film is releasing on July 12. Every film goes through ups and downs, I’m glad the film is getting what it deserves,” the actress added.

Mrunal became a household name thanks to her role of Bulbul in TV serial Kumkum Bhagya. The actress made her big screen debut with the international film Love Sonia last year.

Even before her first Bollywood film hits the screens, Mrunal already has the second movie in her kitty. She will be seen opposite John Abraham in Batla House in which she plays the role Nandita, a character based on DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav’s wife. While talking about roping in Mrunal, director Nikkhil Advani had said, “Sanjeev Kumar Yadav’s relationship with his wife Shobhna, a well-known news anchor in a Hindi news channel, is a significant part of the story so correct casting for this role was important. We were looking for someone who didn’t have a set image but at the same time was talented. Mrunal fit the bill.”

Batla House is slated to release on 15th August 2019.
