Mission Mangal starring Askahy Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Kirti Kulhari and Nithya Menen is slated to hit the screens on 15th August 2019. But a few days ago, there were reports that the release date of the film has been changed and it will hit the screens on 9th August 2019. It was said that the makers have taken this decision as they don’t want to clash with Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Saaho.

Well, the reports have turned out to be false and today, Fox Star Studios, took to Twitter to confirm that their movie is releasing on 15th August 2019. The official Twitter handle of the production house tweeted, “#MissionMangal is all set to take off this #IndependenceDay. Mark the calendar for 15th August. #CapeOfGoodFilms #HopeProductions #JaganShakti @akshaykumar @vidya_balan @sonakshisinha @taapsee @MenenNithya @IamKirtiKulhari @TheSharmanJoshi.”

The much-awaited teaser of the Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor starrer was released today and looks like the makers of Mission Mangal are confident that their movie will do well despite clashing with Saaho. John Abraham starrer Batla House is also slated to release on 15th August, so let’s wait and watch whether the release date of the film will be changed or it will be three films clashing at the box office this Independence Day.

It was in November last year when Akshay Kumar took to Instagram to announce Mission Mangal. Along with the picture of the whole star cast, Akki wrote, “Proud and excited to bring the story of India’s Mars Mission, #MissionMangal to you. Coincidentally the mission was launched on this very date, 5th Nov. 2013. Meet the team and do share your best wishes for our shubh mangal journey. Shoot begins soon ?? @foxstarhindi @sharmanjoshi #KirtiKulhari @taapsee @balanvidya @aslisona @nithyamenen.”

Mission Mangal is based on India’s Mars Mission which was launched in 2013. The movie will focus on the women who were a part of the mission. The movie is directed by Jagan Shakti and also stars Sharman Joshi.
