Maldives crisis: India, UK, US, China issue travel guidelines

The government of Maldives on Monday issued a 15-day state of emergency, but it unlikely to affect the country’s tourism industry. In a statement, the government said the current political situation wouldn’t affect any company operating in the Maldives tourism sector. “The government reiterates the Maldives has an impeccable record on tourist safety and safe guarding business interests. This unwavering commitment will not change during this brief period of State of Emergency,” the government said.
