Kiran Mazumdar Shaw the chairman and managing director of Biocon Limited, a biotechnology company, IDFC Bank founder Rajiv Lall, Abbott Laboratories chairman and CEO Miles White and KPMG International global chairman William Thomas are among those who have been appointed to the board of US India Business Council (USIBC) for 2018, according to the council.
The USIBC is the premier business advocacy organization dedicated to strengthening the economic and commercial relationship between the United States and India.
The board is comprised of industry leaders from the US and India. The premier business advocacy organisation comprises 350 top-tier companies from both the countries advancing bilateral ties.
Nisha Desai Biswal, USIBC President said,”Today, the U.S.-India relationship is greeted with tremendous opportunity and momentum. As one of the most significant and fastest growing markets, India is an important economic partner for the United States. Likewise, Indian companies are investing in ever greater numbers here in the United States. These global leaders will undoubtedly provide valuable leadership to USIBC and its members”.
In 2018, the U.S.-India Business Council will work to advance the U.S.-India strategic and economic relationship by advocating for policy changes that can unlock greater growth and investment opportunities for businesses in both nations, the USIBC said.

The other members appointed USIBC board of directors to include Thomas J. Donohue, president and CEO of US Chamber of Commerce, Carlos Gutierrez chair of Albright Stonebridge Group’s Samir Behl president for Europe, Africa and India at Amway; Sanjay Govil chairman of Infinite Computer Solutions, ex-national security advisor Stephen Hadley, former CIA director Michael Hayden among others.
