THE CEO of a successful pharmaceuticals business has been named among the UK’s 100 most inspirational and innovative leaders.
Dr Nik Kotecha OBE, of Morningside Pharmaceuticals, is one of two entrepreneurs from the East Midlands, alongside Chris Barker, CEO of Spirit Healthcare, on the second annual 2017 Faces of a Vibrant Economy list.
Dr Kotecha said it was an “honour” to receive the recognition, but “also for the business’ commitment to innovation to be identified as among the country’s most inspirational”.
In 2016, the prime minister Thersea May made a trade visit to India alongside Dr Kotecha and other business leaders. May said at the time: “I am showing off the best of British on my trade trip to India – and Morningside Pharmaceuticals is a great example of what the United Kingdom can offer the world as we leave the EU.”
Morningside Pharmaceuticals was launched in 1991. Today, it exports to more than 100 countries and operates across the public and private sectors.
The Faces of a Vibrant Economy list is produced by business and financial advisers Grant Thornton UK.
