So, when several media outlets reported that Rohit Shetty has been signed to call the shots for Kick 2, the news came as a surprise to many. However, putting an end to all baseless reports doing the rounds, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment issued a statement, reiterating that the film will be directed by Sajid Nadiadwala only.

“Clearing the air, we strongly deny any reports of association of any other name as the director of Kick 2. The next of the franchise, Kick 2 is with Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and will be directed by Sajid Nadiadwala,” read the tweet on the official handle of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.

According to reports, Sajid Nadiadwala has been working on the script of the film for more than a year now. Ever since his production house officially announced the project, fans are eagerly waiting for the day when it will finally start rolling.

However, the film is yet to take off for a variety of reasons. Firstly, the script took a lot of time on the writing table. Secondly, superstar Salman Khan was keeping busy with back-to-back projects. The latest we hear that Kick 2 will mount the shooting floor after Khan wraps up Dabangg 3. The superstar is expected to shoot the movie simultaneously with the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial, Inshallah, co-starring Alia Bhatt.

An official announcement is awaited though.
