THE TAJ MAHAL and Vaishno Devi are among the top 10 places that will be cleaned to international standards with help from foreign experts, the Indian government has said.
“We have taken an initiative at 10 iconic places. The idea is to ensure cleanliness of international excellence-level here. We have invited international experts to help us and the World Bank will
provide technical assistance,” Parmeswaran Iyer, secretary of the ministry of drinking water and sanitation, told reporters.
Also included in the iniative are: Manikarnika Ghat (Uttar Pradesh), Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh), Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (Maharashtra), Ajmer Sharif (Rajasthan) and the Golden Temple (Punjab).
