Janhvi Kapoor, who debuted with Shashank Khaitan’s Dhadak (2018), started shooting for her second film Kargil Girl in Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) last week, and now we have learnt that actor Angad Bedi has also joined the cast of the much-awaited movie.
In the film, Janhvi plays the role of Gunjan Saxena, one of the first Indian female helicopter pilots to be posted in Kargil. She had evacuated hundreds of injured soldiers during the Kargil war in 1999. Angad will be seen as her brother Anshuman Saxena.
Gunjan and Anshuman are said to be huge fans of Janhvi Kapoor’s uncle Anil Kapoor in real life. The makers will also show this aspect of the duo’s lives in the movie. Janhvi and Angad recently shot a scene where the two danced to Anil Kapoor’s iconic song “One Two Ka Four” from the movie Ram Lakhan (1989).
“They recreated Anil’s iconic steps during the late-night shoot. Angad plays an army officer, like Gunjan’s real-life brother Anshuman, while Pankaj Tripathi plays their father,” a source informed.
The ongoing schedule of Kargil Girl wraps up on March 2. The second schedule will begin in April in Lucknow only.
The film is produced by Dharma Productions and directed by debutant Sharan Sharma.
