Anees Bazmee

Buzz had it that hit filmmaker Anees Bazmee has roped in Sara Ali Khan and Vicky Kaushal for one of his upcoming directorial ventures. The untitled project, to be produced by Ekta Kapoor, was said to be a madcap entertainer that the filmmaker is known for.

“Anees Bazmee wanted a young and fresh cast for this buddy comedy, which is on the lines of a madcap entertainer that he is known for. It is a comedy of errors and Vicky has already given his nod to the film. He approached Sara Ali Khan because the director feels that she is a terrific performer and people have not still seen the comical side to her,” a popular entertainment website had reported a source as saying.

The source had further added, “Sara loved the script. It is an out-and-out comedy and Ekta is a family friend. Her mother Amrita Singh is very close to Ekta and they were planning to launch Sara anyway in films with Kedarnath (2018). But after a lot of trouble, she had to cop out of the film but she had always promised Amrita that she would work with Sara very soon. It is finally happening. The film rolls out with Sara and Vicky sometime later next year.”

However, hours after rumours spread around, Bazmee dismissed all the reports of casting the two actors in any of his film. “We are still working on the script of the film and will approach the cast once the script is finalised,” said Anees Bazmee.

Meanwhile, Anees Bazmee has started working on his next film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 with Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani. The film is a sequel to the 2007 film Bhool Bhulaiyaa starring Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan and Shiney Ahuja in lead roles. The filmmaker is also gearing up to promote his immediate release Pagalpanti, starring John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Ileana D’Cruz, Kriti Kharbanda, Urvashi Rautela, Pulkit Samrat, Arshad Warsi and Saurabh Shukla. Pagalpanti enters theatres on November 22.
