Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has been hospitalised in Mumbai, according to a media report.
The 81-year-old actor was moved to the Kokilaben Hospital in the early hours of Friday, March 15.
He reportedly underwent an angioplasty on his leg.
Another report said that ‘doctors at Kokilaben Hospital confirmed that Amitabh Bachchan underwent an angioplasty’ at the hospital early Friday.
The report added that an official statement in this regard will be ‘issued by his PR team later in the day’.
On Friday morning, Senior Bachchan shared an update on his blog where he spoke about “gratitude.”
“Ever in gratitude for all your prayers and love... Ever in gratitude for the grace of your affection... Ever in gratitude for your continuity... Love and more later,” he wrote.
The superstar also shared a tweet on X and wrote, “T 4950 – in gratitude ever ..”
Bachchan has recently been busy shooting for his much-anticipated upcoming film Kalki 2898 AD. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film also features Prabhas and Deepika Padukone in lead roles and is aiming for a May 9th release date.
The Sarkar actor has been battling a series of minor health issues for some time now.
Earlier this year, he had undergone surgery for his wrist. He was also hospitalised for almost a month in 2020 as he battled Covid-19. In 2022, he contracted Covid again.
The following year, in July 2023, “medical restrictions” kept him from travelling to San Diego, where Kalki 2898 AD was announced as the official title of his film with Prabhas and Padukone.
