ENTRIES are now open for the 2018 Eastern Eye Arts, Culture & Theatre Awards (ACTA).
The awards, which honour the best of South Asian talent within the creative arts, will take place this summer in central London.
The ACTAs, hosted by Asian Media Group, publishers of Eastern Eye and Garavi Gujarat, are now in their third year and recognise exceptional achievement in a wide range of disciplines, including literature, film, television, theatre, poetry, music, photography, dance and the visual arts.
In 2017, Jatinder Verma MBE was honoured with the top award. The keynote speaker, Matt Hancock, the minister of state for culture, media and sport, emphasised the importance of diversity within the industry in front of guests from the creative industries, high-profile talent and VIP guests. Past winners also include sitar maestro Anoushka Shankar, music producer Naughty Boy, comedian Sindhu Vee and actor Riz Ahmed.
