In 2017, Jatinder Verma MBE was honoured with the top award. The keynote speaker, Matt Hancock, the minister of state for culture, media and sport, emphasised the importance of diversity within the industry in front of guests from the creative industries, high-profile talent and VIP guests. Past winners also include sitar maestro Anoushka Shankar, music producer Naughty Boy, comedian Sindhu Vee and actor Riz Ahmed.

If you know someone who is worthy of winning an Eastern Eye ACTA, nominate them here: Entries close on Friday March 23, 2018.
