Namastey Canada, the much-awaited sequel to the 2007 blockbuster film, Namastey London, has finally locked a release date for itself. The film will hit screens on 7th December 2018. To be directed by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, who returns to direction after seven years, the movie will be a romantic drama.
While its predecessor starred superstar Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in lead roles, Namastey Canada features Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra as the lead pair. Reportedly, Vipul wanted to make the sequel with his favourite star Akshay Kumar, but due to his packed diary, the filmmaker had to rope in Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra. Sonakshi Sinha was also reported to be approached for the movie.
Namastey Canada reunites the much-loved pairing of Arjun and Parineeti after their successful debut with Ishaqzaade. Interestingly, the duo has also signed one more project together. Titled Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, the movie will be directed by Dibakar Banerjee for Yash Raj Films.
Coming back to Namastey Canada, the movie is expected to mount floors early next year and will be shot across some picturesque locations of Canada and Punjab. The team is currently busy with the pre-production activities.
