1. The lucky ‘K’ 

Karan Johar once believed that the letter K would bring him success and fame and so he came up with films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. Although, after watching Lage Raho Munna Bhai, he stopped believing in numerology and started making films like My Name Is Khan, Student of The Year etc. 

2. Created History

In 2007, Karan Johar was chosen as one of 250 Global Young Leaders by the Geneva-based World Economic Forum 2006. On September 30, 2006, Johar became the first Indian filmmaker to be a jury member in the Miss World competition, in Warsaw, Poland. 

3. Father of Two 

Karan Johar is not married to anyone till date but he is a single father of twins through surrogacy. His son’s name is Yash, after his father and his daughter’s name is Roohi, rearranged from his mother’s name Hiroo. 

4. Costume designer 

It was in the set of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ), that he started his career as a costume designer. He started out with picking Shah Rukh Khan’s outfits for his role as Raj Malhotra. And today Karan Johar is known in the industry for their fashion acumen. 

5. Wanted to launch as an actor 

His father Yash Johar wanted him to be an actor and was also ready to launch him to the box office with the Dharma Productions banner. Although in the year 2015, he acted in Anurag Kashyap’s film Bombay Velvet
